We need volunteers!Fall Fix-Up
Library Renaissance Project requests your help with The Great Fall Fix-Up of the Grounds and Gardens of DC Public Libraries.
Volunteers are needed to clear brush, weed beds, rake leaves, trim shrubs, plant bulbs, and mulch. All equipment and plant materials will be provided on site. Please join us for an invigorating time re-invigorating our neighborhood library landscapes.
The following libraries need volunteers from 10 am to 1 pm on the dates listed below:
Thursday November 17
* Capitol View, 5001 Central Avenue, SE (located just off East Capitol Street; a 5-block walk from Benning Road Metro; free parking on library lot)
* Petworth, 4200 Kansas Avenue, NW (located at the the three way intersection of Upshur Street, Georgia and Kansas Avenues, NW; 6 block walk from Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro; free parking on library lot in rear)
* Southwest, 900 Wesley Place, SW (located just off H Street, SW; 2 block walk from Waterfront Metro; free parking on library lot in rear)
* Washington Highlands, 115 Atlantic Avenue, SW (located just off Martin Luther King Blvd, SE; free parking on library lot in rear)
* West End, 1101 24th Street, NW (located at the intersection of L & 24th Streets, NW; a five minute walk across Washington Circle from Foggy Bottom Metro; free parking on library lot off L Street)
* Woodbridge, 1801 Hamlin Street, NE (located just off Rhode Island Avenue, NE; a 5 minute bus ride from the Rhode Island Metro; free parking on library lot in rear)
Friday November 18
* Chevy Chase, 5625 Connecticut Avenue, NW (free parking on library lot)
* Cleveland Park, 3310 Connecticut Avenue, NW (free parking on library lot)
* Georgetown, 3260 R Street, NW (free parking on library lot in rear )
* Mt. Pleasant, 3160 16th Street, NW (three blocks from Columbia Heights Metro; no parking available)
* Northeast, 330 7th Street, NE (7 blocks from Union Station or Eastern Market Metro stops; no parking available)
